Hook Em Horns

Do I really need to say anymore?

Because I must share a convesation Jes and I had last night:

Me: Hey Jes I was thinking that we could each watch the Rose Bowl and we could be on the phone together so that I can teach you about football.

Jes: Uh, NO. Katie, do you really like football or do you just watch it because you know that your future husband will like you more because you watch football?

Me: Uhhh, yeah Jes that is why I stayed up last night to watch triple overtime for Penn St. vs. FSU by myself, and why I rushed home tonight to watch Texas vs. USC, again by myself. All because I'm hoping to land a man with only my football watching skillz.

Jes: Ok, just checking.

wait, what? Did you call me last night or the night before? I guess it was the night before. You went to Austin??? I LOVE Austin. And I like the bumper sticker that says "Keep Austin Weird"

ok so I really didn't drive to Austin, but I wasn't going to drive to work (where I have internet connection) to post

And Mr. Steve - you had no faith sir, you gave up on the Longhorns (always a mistake - ALWAYS) the last two minutes were the BEST of the entire game

but you know i love you anyways. glad you enjoyed the game! :) i watched the news this morning at the gym, and thought to myself that you must have been pretty jubiliant.

whatever! i didn't respond "ok!" i responded, laughing, saying "okay, just checking."

also, for the record, i did not end my questions with periods, as shown in the example.

I was missing TWO WORDS.

And are you saying you aren't a woman? I know you're not a man, so are you some kind of robot? Am I friends with a robot? Did I live with a robot? FREAKY, just don't peel back your flesh to show me all your wiring and gizmos, I don't want to see that

Katie: never underestimate the importance of football watching skillz when talking about & considering a man.

He will be impressed becasue you have the skillz and might feel a bit intimidated becasue you might have more skillz than he.

You just went up two notches in my book BECAUSE you have the football watching skillz.

I'm rooting for Texas because I despise USC. Pete Carroll was a crappy coach when he coached my Patriots in the NFL. Plus, no one gives Texas, a really good team any chance to beat USC.

Ok, my bad. I just checked the score. I'm glad Texas won. I thought the game was tonight!!!

Duh.

The game rocked. I really tried to root for USC 'cause they're PAC-10 but just couldn't do it.

Hook 'em Horns is right... speaking of bumper stickers, I love the Texas bumper stickers.. lets see...

"Life is to short NOT to live it as a Texan"

"I wasn't born in Texas but I got here as quick as I could"

"I'm from Texas, what country are you from"

"There are 2 kinds of people:
those who are Texan and those who wish they were"

and my fav...

"American by birth, Texan by the grace of God."

God Bless Texas... nuff said!

I love those Texas bumper stickers too.

Jes, K-T totally told me that she was going to call you and make you listen to the game. She knows how much you love the phone.

Sounds like a good plan K-T. Football and Food are normally high on the male priority list.

Katie-

If you can't woo him with intelligence, good looks and charm... woo him with football skillz.

That's what I always say!

HA!

ben, she has good looks, wit, charm, football skillz, AND she can bake A-MAZ-ING chocolate chip cookies.

if i were a man, i'd totally be after her.

but i'm not. and i'm married. so i'll just be her friend (with chocolate chip cookie benefits) instead.

According to Brian, I am after her too. But that's a long story.

Jes - I'm glad you qualified your "friends with benefits" definition of our relationship, cookie benefits only

JCol - I LAUGHED OUT LOUD at your comment, oh yes, your hubby and his crazy ideas, all because I said you looked hot

If it takes watching football to get a good guy, I'm totally lost. No hope. Then again, I'm not from Texas.
