Decisions, Decisions, Decisions
I will admit I like things to be comfortable and consistent. I accept change but I don't always embrace it. Yes, I am that person that orders the same thing at a restaurant, that shops at the same stores, and that can listen to the same CD over and over again. There is comfort in consistency.
And yet, I find myself in a place where change is inevitable.
I feel like I’m on the old game show Let’s Make a Deal. I have my costume, my name’s been called, and I’m standing next to the host with three curtains before me. Behind each curtain is a different path, a new road, a new future and yet I have no clue which to pick. I don’t even have a guess at what’s behind each curtain and I’m stuck wondering if I choose one over the other will I make a huge mistake.
Should I stay? Should I go? If go, then where?
I’m not afraid of change. In fact, I think I’ve reached a place where I’m ready to embrace it wholeheartedly if only I knew what change to make. I’m ready to take that leap and try something new.
I just need to know what direction to head in.
Any ideas?

I see you standing at the fork in the road my friend.
Praying for wisdom for you to make the right decision, and that the doors will be wide open or sealed shut to avoid any confusion. :)
I still can't get over that tree in the pictures.
Minnesota!
Is that behind any curtain?
Go where your heart leads. Go where it feels right. Pray, seek, find.
Matt. 7:7
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
I don't think there's a wrong choice. There's just the unknown.
So, since I like to plan your life, and since I want to move to CA or OR one day, I say move there. And then once I get there, I'll already have a friend.
See how easy and convenient that is for me?
Don't you sometimes feel like you are listening so hard that you can't hear it?
Jes - if that is your request then I put you in charge of finding me employment and living quarters in the place of your choice
Aims - EXACLTY, it's not that I'm not waiting, or listening, or searching, or desiring His will, it's more that He's choosing silence for the moment and I'm standing at the crossroads waiting for a push in one direction
I have family in Minnesota. Lots of mosquitos. And a ton of snow in the winter. But it's beautiful.
I'll be praying for you Katie!
When are you moving to Oregon????
:)
Hmmm Anonymous, I'm not sure I should take advice from you, because well you're anonymous. I mean you could be some crazy person that just wants me to move to Oregon so you can steal my two pounds of taffy or some other such nonsense. Now maybe if you were to reveal youself I might give some weight to your question. But then again, I have a summer home there on the beach, it's a little shabby and I would get wet in a rain storm but it is RIGHT on the beach so I really can't complain. Feel free to look at the picture in the last post to see what I'm talking about.
:)
Hmmm! Sorry I'm no help.
It seems to me that you only have 2 choices. You either decide what you want to do and let that guide you where to go. Or you decide where you want to go, and let that guide you to what you do.
From what I know about you I think you already know the answer, but are just afraid to make the leap.
Good luck!
Don't ask me. You know what I'll say...
COME TO MILWAUKEE!!! :D
I'm with you at this fork in the road, sister. I really am.
You know, there is some truth to the fact that, when faced with a decision, many of us already know what we must, or want, to do, but are afraid to take the leap.
I read a quote one time that said something like, "When in doubt, flip a coin. Because while the coin is up in the air, you'll suddenly realize how you want it to land."
I don't think that holds true for every decision, but it does bring us to a moment of clarity sometimes.
katie! C~ has already offered for you to be her roommate.
AND, i already sent you TWO job ads for Portland.
see? all the signs point there.
Go on and give it a try. So what if it doesn't work out. At least you can say you tried it. You're young and you are allowed to make mistakes, massive amounts of mistakes. As far as I can see (and compared to my own life) you are way behind on making mistakes. SO get busy, be adventurous, and just DO IT !!! I would if I were you.
There are plenty of Christian schools in the west suburbs of Portland (Wash. county) for you to work at if you still wanted to teach. It is a growing county with plenty of need for teachers, esp. in the private schools. Look for schools in Hillsboro, Aloha, Beaverton. Good Luck!
wow I have my own anonymous head hunter . . . . I'm intrigued, want to reveal yourself? shoot me an email at kpinion7@yahoo.com if you feel like it
KT, what is your degree in again?
Settlers of Catan? Cranium? I can't remember, but you are so good at both of them you could have a BA in them.
Anywho, I suggest finding out what you really LOVE to do. Then searching for a job that allows you to do that.
Blogger may be hiring - I know at one point they were and I applied for a job with them. The necessary quailifications were, "Must use blogger and know how to blog."
You also like to write and so you could do some freelance journalism on the side. Or you could work at a bakery and give your friends (me) some free treats! What a great idea, go to work at Davis Purity Bakery in Denton or Ravelin in Denton and bring me some leftovers!!
Problem = Solved!
