So . . . . .

I'm driving to school today and I pass a group of what must be middle school kids waiting for the bus. The girls were huddled together talking about things like fashion, who is dating who, who likes who, who doesn't like who, and who is mad at who for liking someone they like (I use to be a teenage girl so I know things like this). The boys were lined up on the street waving at every car that drove by.

So I pull up to the intersection and begin to make my turn and the boys start waving. I'm a nice person so I wave back and then this one boy decides to shoot me the universal sign for "call me" - you know the thumb and pinkie extended as he brings his hand to his face. I busted out laughing that this boy, who might be 13 or 14, was giving me (old lady compared to his young pup age) the "call me" sign.

And then it struck me, wow that is the most action I've seen in forever. And that of course made me laugh even harder.

hehehehehe Foxy lady!

You go girl!

You should have rolled down your window and shouted at him: "No, YOU call ME in ten years, handsome!"

... and then winked

That would have totally freaked him out! hahahaha!!!

Yah Sure.

You Bet.

I don't have a habit of single women calling me so it's good we are both on the same page...

Don'tcha know.

Stephanie - ok as i read foxy lady I had to (HAD TO) lift my hand to my head and use my first two fingers to make ears and then bend them as I sang "Foxy, Foxy" - yes people I am a weird one.

As far as the "call me handsome" that takes this story from mildly funny to just scary and sad and I for one don't want to be scary or sad, mildly funny and weird, yes

Besides that... you are my Honorary Little Sister... and so, beside the obvious, that would be...just so wrong.

Funny.... you should totally call him! I hear that 13 years have cell phones now, so you could call without his mom knowing.

AAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I love how this is spinning totally and completely out of your control Katie!

Anyway, all I was saying is that you should freak him out - not DATE him! I would venture to say I'm the most normal one in this group so far! hehehehe

WAIT

I'm not sick. I was just laughing at the insanity of a 13 year old shooting me the "call me sign" because I am ANCIENT compared to him.

Ok have to point out you are using the world ya'll. What's up with Oregon knowing and using ya'll - points in your column for that.

Yep, it's all Ben, he's the sick one in this circus of craziness.

I was innocently making the signal of "call me."

It was Katie that misconstrued my comment.

This is all wrong. Just plain wrong.

I think someone is feeling just a little left out because while he was busy "sleeping in", we were having lots of fun without him. ;)

See Steve? It was Logan's suggestion that you might still be sleeping... I just went along with it ;)

Katie! I'm SO going to study now!

Somehow this place became the hole digging hang out - welcome Ben, Stephanie, Logan, oh and Aimee and KrisT.

I, myself, have dug no such holes, it was the rest of you. I just handed you the shovel and pointed you to the soft ground and look what you did.

Funny that Logan is now trying to dig himself out of a hole he dug over on his site on my site.

And hey, I guess I just got nominated to be Steve's personal assistant. Well I hate to inform you all but Steve is not in right now, if you would like to leave a message I will try and make sure he gets back to you when he is available, unless he begins to dig holes and then who knows when he will be available

Stephanie - GO STUDY

Katie,

So if you're ancient to a 13 year old what does that make ME?
One foot in the grave, I'm guessing...

Nothing to flaunt, hey? I think your head shot is nice. Seriously.

And I've been known to use y'all in my speech occasionally, and I've NEVER even been to Texas.
Read about it once, though....

I'm what you might call a yankee (please don't, though) bad imagery...

First off, please check out my apology comment on yesterday's post.

Now concerning this one:

Steve: You cracked me up!

Green: Right there with ya buddy (we're the same age).

On a slightly more serious note (since I feel the need to redeem myself from yesterday), Katie...and whoever else is single...don't ever let the amount of time since a relationship mess with you. When I started dating my wife I hadn't had a serious relationship in eight years. Everyone was married in my circle of friends except me. My wife was DEFINITELY worth the wait.
